So there's a problem everyone's experiencing they for some mundane reason completely shut down any support for other versions of NMM, at a catch, you're FORCED to update to the new community version in order to log into your account in or downloading mods.
THEY DIDN'T EVEN DISCLAIM THE THIRD PARTY DATA POLICY ENOUGH. I have no doubt in my mind that their main reason for shutting down all other versions of NMM isn't the mundane reason they gave, but that exact data breach that they clearly pushed on you. Be wary, don't use Nexus Mod Manager anymore if you are sensitive about your data. It was a mistake for me to reluctantly accept it.

You give them full permission to do so by authorizing (2 times via application and through website), and accepting terms and conditions. Once you use Nexus they automatically pull that information if you allow cookies which is automatically used in order to access your account, but they also collect data, third party applications will as of now be able to access that data that Nexus collects from you.
Be wary and block nexus via cookies after you complete downloads, or don't use nexus at all. This is why they required your authentication so much. EDIT: I just figured out I was right.starting February 2019, The Nexus Mods Public API allows third-party applications to access the Nexus Mods database, provided they are supplying a valid API Key for a user.
